Famous for being the birthplace of Daniel O'Connell - 'The Liberator of Ireland' (1775-1847), Cahersiveen has many Historical Sites from the 1000 year old Ringforts to the beautiful 19th century O'Connell Memorial Church

A lively market town, Cahersiveen is the Shopping centre of South Kerry and having a vibrant Traditional Music Scene, there are many quality restaurants and friendly bars.

        If any of the following is taking up space and you want to get rid of it the members of the South Kerry Astronomy Group will delightfully take them off your hands to help furnish our new home in the Caherciveen Barracks: stacking/folding chairs - table - filing cabinet - shelves - desk - beanbags - old laptop/computer - television - mats - speakers- or anything else you think we might need.

      • South Kerry Astronomy Group
        The basement of the Caherciveen Barracks is the new home of the South Kerry Astronomy Group. Meetings will take place every second Thursday of the month - newcomers always welcome. We are planning an open day so keep an eye out for more details. To become a member or if you want to book a talk or anything else to do with Astronomy please contact Julie at 087 7845688 - leave a message and I will get back to you. Just wait until you see our new telescopes ! A huge thanks to LEADER for part funding the equipment and all those who supported our fundraising efforts.
