Tobar na Croiche Naofa - Cahersiveen’s Holy Well

Ballinskelligs is a tiny village nestled on the western edge of the spectacular horseshoe shaped Ballinskelligs Bay, punctuated by long white beaches and islands. It’s on The Skellig Ring road which takes you from Ballinskelligs to The Glen and Portmagee, neighbouring villages.

Ancient ruins of the seat of the mighty Clan - MacCarthy Mor dating from the 15th Century.

The castle is located a short drive ’over the water’ just North of Cahersiveen.

Caherdaniel and Castlecove are two neighbouring little villages on the Southern coast of the Iveragh peninsula and set against the backdrop of spectacular scenery, and stunning views.

Beaches around Cahersiveen

Cahersiveen has some of the most beautiful beaches in the region all within a 10-15 minute drive.
Blue Flag Cuas Crom and Whitestrand are the nearest to Cahersiveen being a short drive ’over the water’. Beautiful Blue Flag Kells Bay with its wonderful views of the Dingle Peninsula is just a 15 minute drive through Foilmore and then down the wooded valley of Kells to the Bay.

The ancient Stone Ring Forts - Leacanabuail and Cahergal.

Carefully restored and preserved Ring Forts dating from the 6th and 9th centuries.

Located just a short drive ’over the water’, north of Cahersiveen, near Ballycarbery Castle.

The Gothic Revival O’Connell Memorial Church completed in 1902 and dedicated to the Statesman, Daniel O’Connell the Liberator, native of Cahersiveen. Recently restored and refurbished, it is still the Parish Church of Cahersiveen and central to town life.

Dromid is a vibrant rural community located in the heart of South West Kerry. The Parish of Dromid, whose centre is Mastergeehy, lies in the famous Inny Valley on the Iveragh Peninsula here in South West Kerry, Ireland.

Abbey of the Holy Cross

Located on Old Market Street just adjacent to the main Car Park in Cahersiveen.

This is not a church of traditional design, as there is no steeple present, due to the laws prevailing in the Penal Times., The old Penal church is located directly south of the Abbey.
Of note is the fact that Daniel O’Connell’s parents are buried in the graveyard which surrounds the church.
